Applebee`s in Barrie

Don't know what happened to this place... used to be one of our favorite places to eat but ever since new people took over about 2 years ago it's been on a downward spiral since... pasta comes out dry and burnt from a microwave asked for medium well steak and I get this.. supposed to be a 9 oz steak but was more like 5 or 6oz

Great place, welcoming and attentive staff, and awesome food, what more could you want?

Wayyyyyy over priced for what it is. Very disappointed. Was the first time I went and it was because of a commercial in the states. And I realized I haven't been to a traditional American restaurant. I would highly recommend that you don't bother with this chain. Staff seemed scattered. Was interrupted in the middle of my meal so they could move a chair. I was actually about to take a bite. Even the customers around me were expressing "wow". This is the first time in going to restaurants that I had to get up and wait for people to move furniture. Super weird. Chairs uncomfortable but being in marketing I know they are purposely designed to get you out of the restaurant quickly. Honestly folks this place isn't worth the time or money. The food was mediocre at best. Portions were very small. And wayyyyyy over priced. Big thumbs down.

Food was awesome. Can't beat their drink prices. First time there will definitely be back.

I had the southwest beyond burger. Decent taste but plainer than I thought with that name. Service was good and helpful. Food came quickly.

Amazing experience! We were seated immediately by a sweet girl. Our server, Trina, was very good; she was the bartender as well as serving 4 tables. Our food came quickly and was far better than we expected. The manager was present throughout our whole meal, which was nice to see. Definitely will be back!

Very nice staff food was alright

First time visiting applebee's ever was about a week ago, been back three times since. Have tried a few different things, I love them. This place is a great restaurant. Friendly staff, food was brought in a timely manner. Staying at the local hotel, this is a fantastic choice for lunch or dinner. Thanks for the excellent service guys!

Amazing steak and roasted potatoes. Definitely highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

I came here with my fiance. They have great drink deals, we each got a $4 domestic pint. We had the spinach and artichoke dip which was delicious. Apparently you can ask for soft pita instead of chips. I got the hamburger quesadilla which I really enjoyed. I also got sweet potato fries which were delish! My fiance got a pasta that he did not enjoy (bland) so I'd say maybe avoid pasta. But I am very happy with the experience. Our server was friendly too. I would recommend Applebee's to others.

Dark and gloomy inside. Food was just okay a little bland. Server was decent but even though it was not very busy we felt very rushed

Options are awesome especially if you have dietary need like me. The service was amazing too. As a server I appreciate good service more than others. Real team work happening there (at least when I went). Was my 1st time and hoping to go again as I'm driving through Barrie this weekend there & back. Hope it great again.

Applebee’s does it right! I couldn’t believe when I came across this Applebee’s in Barrie. I lived in the States for most of my life and Applebee’s was my go to. I didn’t even know they had restaurants in Canada and this location DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Excellent service, superb food! I will be back!

My fiancée was on her lunch break from work and I decided to meet up with her here at Applebee's and we arrived and sanitized our hands and walked in the restaurant and asked the waitress if we could sit in the patio area and do our order and the waitress was rude. She didn't greet us when we arrived and she didn't even ask us if we wanted to sit down. Not even a simple "Hello". What came out of her mouth was, "We're not Open until Noon" and left us standing at the door and it was 3 minutes to 12:00 (noon). Unbelievable. We will not be coming back to this restaurant. We were both upset and uphalled. Note to the Manager, you need to investigate who was working and she should be terminated. She is obviously in the wrong business.

So Applebee's is what it is. If you like this type of food you can't go wrong here.Interestingly there isn't one in the Toronto area so this Barrie location got a lot of love from us when we were up there.It's decently priced, have great specials and the food is what you'd expect.We had one situation were the wrong meal was brought to us and they immediately apologized and made that meal complementary. So their service is solid too.Sometimes the service can be a little slow - however this is Applebee's - it's not fine dining. So for me - for what it's supposed to be - this is a 5 star family experience.

The staff and manager were great and addressed my concerns with my meal but I must say, the quality of the food was woefully disappointing. I’m sorry to give an average rating , 2 ⭐️s for the food quality and 1 ⭐️ for the service and addressing my meal and removing it from my bill. I just hope it was a one time fluke that I didn’t enjoy my visit.

The best crispy tai chicken tacos in town

Went with 2 friends. I ordered the 20$ all you can eat shrimp, I got 12 overcooked shrimp the first round. It took 30 minutes for someone to address my empty plate and the place was empty. I had to ask the manager for more. The snooty balding bartender brought out 6 more little shrimp by that time my friends where trying to leave me there as it was taking so long.

The "safe" choice when eating out. You know it will be fine, but don't expect to be blown away. Service is good and friendly, and it will be clean and presentable.

It was the best apple dessert ever and the waitress was right I loved it she was amazing!

Service was slow and not attentive in a restaurant that was practically empty. Server did not even ask if we liked the food. Very disappointed.

I’m rating Applebee’s on their contributions to their community. For 2 years my sons baseball team has been able to hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the Bayfield St. location. It goes a long way that they provide this service to all of the minor sports in our city.

Every time we go here our waitress is amazing. She knows us and has fun with us. she is an asset to this restaurant and we can't wait to see her again

This place seems to have not changed one bit over the years - and that’s a good thing! You can expect consistency at Applebee’s. The wait staff are polite without being overbearing. The food is decent, comes out fast and is a good value for what you get. Clean and cozy atmosphere. Good drink deals throughout the week. The waitress did not rush us out the door when we were finished the meal, we chatted at the table awhile before leaving after paying our bill. Nice place to go every once in a while.

I go to Applebee's all the time with my family. We have never had a bad meal or experience there. My 3 daughters love the amount of variety have to choose from. The servers and managers (especially the one with the beard.) are some of the nicest people I've met. I highly recommend going there for lunch or dinner or both.

It was my birthday. I had never been there before. Food was very good excellent service friendly staff clean felt very welcome made my birthday dinner great with my friends I would go back when in town would recommend to friends that go to barrie

Some of the food was cold and the waitress forgot one of our item. The chicken I usually order was dry, it seemed that they cooked it differently then their usual recipe

Just received my order from SkipTheDishes & I must say. I’m highly disappointed about my order.I order the Mac & Cheese honey pepper chicken tenders. And as you can see in the picture below. That is definitely not Mac & Cheese. I won’t even feed this to my dog. Definitely my last time ordering from this restaurant.

Probably the only restaurant open for sit down in Barrie.

Had a great dinner here . I enjoyed a Bahama mama . Even thou it wasnt mark gluten free on the menu , I had had the Fiesta Lime Chicken in the states . I asked our server and sure enough it is gf here as well . The only thing I would do different next time, is ask for more sauce . There wasnt really enough to have with the rice and the corn chips . We finished off with a crustless cheese cake . Very yummy .

I'm a regular here at applebees! I always sit at the bar and have a couple cold beers late in the day. I just love Trina the bartender she's an excellent bartender as well as quick to have friendly conversation when her job allows it. I see her diligently doing her job in a timely manner and yet still keeping focus on her customers.She is definitely an asset to this establishment.She is the reason I keep going back.

Cozy atmosphere and very friendly waitresses, the food was good but the Chicken Parmesean was nothing special, even a little too simple as if they simply poured ready-made tomato sauce on the pasta. It completely lacked the Parmesan flavour. The french fries were tasty and the salads too. The chicken fingers and fries plate was pretty big. Overall a nice restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Bar tender decided to make a comment she thought we couldnt hear as she walked away. If you work in customer service make sure to keep your comments in your head. Never been here before and definitely wont be back again.

We have enjoyed previous visits. Tonight's meal was awful. Dry, hard, overcooked pasta, dried on cheese, jar-type sauce of a grocery store variety. My daughter's club sandwich was tasteless and smothered with mayo. Will not be back. I would rather eat at home. Stay away.

Great service, very little wait to get a table . Food was really good. Only thing I would change is the thickness of the batter on the homade fish and chips.

We've been at Applebee's a quite a lot. However the last few times the food was ok, nothing more. The kids love the chicken fingers though.

Our first outing in some time and very happy to see the steps taken to keep us (and the staff) safe! From disposable menus and single use condiments, spaced tables and plexi dividers between them - safety is clearly a priority. Food and service were also terrific - happy to see so many great choices on the kids menu!

Love this restaurant I wish we had one in my town
